Philippine Daily Inquirer's business section has conducted a survey on the top celebrity endorsers in our country and this is the list:

1. Kris Aquino. The presidential sister is also one of the top Filipino taxpayers. Labeled as “Queen of Talk” and “Queen of All Media” you often see her endorsing products for many different brand categories.

2. John Lloyd Cruz. Sought by many marketers for his popularity, wholesomeness and boyish looks, aside from the fact that his movies are blockbusters.

3. Kim Chiu. Her youthfulness makes advertisers like her. She has made commercials for a shampoo, sanitary napkin, cola, fastfood, apparel, cellphone and other for-teens-only brands.

4. Piolo Pascual. This boy-next-door type is undeniably, one of the most pleasant celebrities to work with, according to people who have worked with him.

5. Judy Ann Santos. Endeared by millions of soap-opera fans. Young mothers can easily emphatize with her, a convincing endorser for food and household brands.

6. Anne Curtis. The Fil-Australian mestiza has endorsed many top brands and market leaders. She is the face of a leading shampoo, beauty soap, feminine napkin, cellphone, condominium, watch, fastfood, bank and a premium apparel brand.

7. Sarah Geronimo. Name it, the talented singer and charming morena beauty can easily fill up the biggestconcert venues in the country.

8. Carmina Villaroel. The very popular actress who started early in her show biz career is a favorite endorser for mom-who-loves-what-is-best-for-her-family roles. Usually seen with her twins and husband Zoren.

9. Robin Padilla. When it comes to tough-guy roles, the ageless actor commands top-of-mind awareness among advertisers.

10. KC Concepcion. Marian Rivera. Two of the country’s most beautiful and refreshing faces are tied in 10th place.

11. Daniel Padilla. The young actor’s rise to popularity is phenomenal and his star continues to shine brighter.

Nora Aunor Is The Most Awarded Filipina Actress in 2013 So Far!

With the recent best actress victory of Nora Aunor in Gawad Tanglaw 2013, she is now 2013's most awarded Pinay actress, so far. Dingdong Dantes won Best Actor in that award -giving body.

Including this citation, her awards this year are now tallying at six, which include two international awards. Vilma Santos, her closest rival and another great actress, has won the Cinemalaya Best Actress for her first ever indie film, Extra. Santos is expected to reap more acting citations, too, for her "deglamorized" role as a bit player.

Marian Rivera's Haters Must Be Grinding Their Teeth Now Because She's Shooting a New TVC

Just two years ago, Marian Rivera's billboards and TV advertisements were inescapable-- you can see them everywhere. However, despite her popularity and visibility seemingly increasing their momentum, her endorsements slowed down.

Many people have concluded that the negative write ups she is getting have tainted her image and she has lost her charms to the masses.

However, upon analysis, this isn't so (based on the record-breaking number of crowds she has pulled -off in her recent mall shows in the South and her winning major online popularity polls like Yahoo OMG and FHM Sexiest Woman). It must be a case of bad management. The good thing is that she has ditched her old manager, Popoy, just in time. It gave her a fresh start and the new management, Triple A, appears to be getting new clients for their new prized star.

New negative issues created against Marian notwithstanding, it does seem Marian is winning the battle: there is a report that she's shooting a new television commercial! This is after we saw another big billboard of hers in EDSA!

The detractors should do a better job next time because Marian's career is even taking off.

Going back to the issue that she lost a lot of endorsements before, we do think it was just natural for any big star to have his/her endorsements come and go. The issue is just magnified in the case of Marian because she is just a hot topic online.

Take for example, Angel Locsin's endorsements. Nobody made a fuss when she was removed recently of the following endorsements: Timex, Rexona, Myra Lotion, Mosbeau, Century Tuna, and the list goes on.

And for a long time, her only TVC airing is Head and Shoulders. It's just lately that we saw another TVC of her aside that shampoo. Am I right?

Inquirer's Blind Item on A "Professional Hater"

Inquirer.net has recently published an issue about a controversial critic who is very passionate in his "advocacy." This advocacy we mean his untiring effort to disparage so-called Pretty Star. The latest is the purported insincere and "for-camera only" charity event.

Now the article surmises that the critic is indeed a "professional hater" paid by a "rival studio." I am not naming names but you may guess who is the pretty star who gets never-ending hate news online despite winning the coveted Sexiest Woman and Celebrity of the Year popularity polls courtesy of her massive fanbase.

My question is, is this professional hater a part of the "hate group" who ensured that the pretty star be the World's Most Hated Person? Who is this professional hater whose profession is to create lies on pretty star? I pity them.

Katie Perry's Roar is Beating Lady Gaga's Applause

Katy Perry and Lady Gaga have recently released their new songs and their fans are naturally rooting for their idol's songs to break records. These two colorful popstars are now being considered the closest rivals in pop music.

There is bad news for the Little monsters as Katy's "Roar" is clearly a big winner over Lady Gaga's "Applause." This is if we are going to consult the data provided by Billboard.

Quoting Billboard, "According to industry sources, "Roar" could sell 450,000-475,000 downloads for the tracking week ending Sunday (Sept. 1)." While on Lady Gaga's Roar, Billboard said, "Applause is forecast to sell 200,000-225,000."

Meanwhile, in the Twitter world, Katy Perry has surpassed the Mother Monster when it comes to the number of followers. Katy (@katyperry) has now 41,948,747 while Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) has 40,002,834.

The Internet is recently buzzing with negative articles about Marian Rivera as different showbiz bloggers have again put the Primetime Queen in a bad light. These are not new to the Pinay actress since fantastic stories have been created before against her in a regular manner. These stories all just died their natural death, and it seems Marian's popularity was not affected at all.

However, the most shocking of all the bashing is a so-called poll on who is The Most Hated Person in The World where Marian ranked at the second spot side-by-side Hitler.The same site also has a poll on the Hottest Female Celebrity in the World where Angel Locsin is ranked number 1.

Common sense dictates that those who voted Angel Locsin as the "hottest star" might also have voted Marian as the "most hated."

If that is so, then Marian Rivera must be hated by Angel fans out of envy because Marian has recently defeated Angel in FHM's Sexiest Woman of 2013 and Yahoo OMG's Most Popular Celebrity in the Philippines for 2013.

Google Trends has some accurate and up-to-date insights on what's trending when it comes to who or what the hot searches Filipinos are interested in.

Online searches are the real and untampered gauge on who are the Filipina celebrities capturing the interest of the online community. We all know that online popularity polls can be manipulated.

Now the question is, who is the "most searched Pinay actress among Angel Locsin, Anne Curtis, Kim Chiu, Sarah Geronimo, and Marian Rivera? We included these stars in our analysis because they are the most in demand these days, so to speak.

And the winner is: Anne Curtis, followed by Marian Rivera, Sarah Geronimo, Kim Chiu, and Angel Locsin.



It is interesting to note that Anne's "singit scandal" helped in a way in spiking people's interest to "Google" her while Marian Rivera has a steady relevance when it comes to searches.
